The University of Aristoteles continues until this day its studies concerning Greek honeys which have shown that dark-colored honeys are richer in antioxidant and nutritional elements than the others. It is worth mentioning that the University with Chrisoula Tananaki as a Lead Researcher analyzed 47 types of honey and categorized them by their antioxidant action. The top 5 of this research were the oak honey, the chestnut honey, the fir honey, the heather honey and the pine honey leaving at 6th place the most advertised New Zealand’s honey Manuka.

The value of products is formed by the law of supply and demand. The harder it is for a product to be found the higher its value will be let alone if it is hardly produced… This means that there are rare honey varieties too because it is hard for bees to collect the nectar from blossoms and sometimes weather doesn’t help some flowerings and honey excretions to give 100% of their production.
